“because I am 6 and 4 months….ALMOST  7″    She is already ready to plan her birthday party.  I had a hard time when my little one turned 5..how time flies.  She brings many smiles and laughter in her wake.  We are enjoying the break from yesterdays rain her in Arroyo Grande.

my girl | central coast photographer

Here is my bear.  She was home from school and she agreed to a 10 minute picture session with mom outside.  I can hardly believe she is 9.  It seems like not so long ago she was learning to walk.  Hugs to you my bear bear! I am playing with MCP  Finish it Action.

Jules - Yay!!! Love to see these here! So pretty! She's gorgeous!!! p.s. you left out my favorite one with the purple dress! :)

because it’s wednesday (almost)

and because I wanted to share from my develop on Fridays assignment.  This online workshop is being held by Jefra Linn and it is great.  This was for an assignment dealing with unexpected light.  So here is mine.  It is of my little bear.  She LOVES to read and read and read.  She was very tired as you can see…

Jules - so sweet! I just put a light like this in my shopping cart ... B will love it, too!

Binh Petit - OMG....love it!

Jennifer N - Very sweet image. I can see my kids falling asleep like this too, they love to read.

pigtails or ponytails

Well I call them ponytails but I have been corrected by my 6 year old.  ”Mom….these are PIGTAILS not ponytails.  I like Pigtails today please!”  She is always busy outside exploring and finding hidden treasures at our house in Arroyo Grande.  I hope you all had a fun week end exploring and finding treasures with your own children.

Jules - I love this girlie of yours!

valentine

Hoping everyone had a wonderful Valentines day!  Mine was great…beautiful sunny day here in Arroyo Grande, family time outside, handpicked flowers from my girls, quick hug from my son, delicious dinner made by me and my husband along with coconut cream pie. ( a favorite here especially for the boys)  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

binh petit - Tamara!!! LOVE these...so fun! You're website is gorgeous and what beautiful images! It was very nice meeting...hope to keep in touch = )

Jules - hope everyone enjoyed the yummy pie!

miss ‘A’

Here are a few more portraits of miss ‘A’ from last week end.  There are two one has an added texture.. Any opinions???  Photographing children keeps you moving and on your toes.  She was such a trooper dodging the rain in San Luis Obispo while we photographed her.  Isn’t she precious

Jules - Tamara ... I love everything that you captured from the workshop! This is one beautiful little girl and you did an amazing job with these images. I thinks it's so fun to try a bit a texture... looks great!

Kathi C - Tamara these are fantastic! The eyes, the attitude, just exquisite. Beautiful work my friend!

Jennifer Chaney - Oh my gosh she is a doll! I love this shot. I'm not a texture person, but I really like this one with it. Adds to the feel. Great work!

misty - What a beauty! Great job!

Janet - This image makes me smile. She is a natural beauty and you captured her perfectly. I love the image.

tara k - oh, i LOVE these! really beautiful work, tamara.

Jennifer N - Tamara. You sure did capture the beauty in this little doll face! I like the first picture. I actually can't tell which one has a texture. But I like the contrast in the front one!

Melissa - You are so talented you got her so perfectly thank you!

sonja wright - Love this photo! Great job capturing pure sweetness!

San Luis Obispo Workshop Part 2

Part two of the photography workshop in San luis Obispo was also wonderful.  I got to spend the day with some amazing photographers and hear words of wisdom from Joy Vertz of Shoot the Moon Photography.  Joy took us through the business side of the photography business and it was brilliant.  She shared some of her strategies on taking your business to the next level and customer service.  Joy is the successful owner and photographer with an amazing group of photographers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Thank you Joy!  It was wonderful and very helpful spending the day learning from you.

Lucky for me I was able to attend the third day of the workshop with Leah Profancik and Amanda Elkins.  We were able to watch these amazing photographers work their magic with two beautiful older models.  We again dodged the rain and were able to shoot portraits of these girls in Arroyo Grande.  I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to observe and learn from the photographers who presented at the workshop and from the other photographers who attended the workshop.  Here are a few pictures from the last day of the workshop.

Amanda Elkins - Tamara! These turned out so great!! I cannot wait to see you apply all the information you gathered this weekend on your upcoming sessions! Oh! And thank you for the mention on the blog... you made me feel so special! :) ~A

Linh - These are great images, fabulous job! I especially like the ones with the horse.

Janet - The location was perfect. Love your images and your pping.

San Luis Obispo Photography Workshop

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I was lucky to attend a wonderful photography workshop in San Luis Obispo this last weekend.  The talented portrait photographer Leah Profancik led the photography portion of the workshop and it was wonderful.  We dodged the rain and were able to photograph three beautiful children in the fields and downtown San Luis Obispo.  I met many wonderful photographers who share my passion for children and photography.  The second part of the workshop was about the business side of photography and our talented speaker for that was amazing.   More on that tomorrow…..So here are a few from the workshop.  I will share more tomorrow and throughout the week.

Linh - Great Photos Tamara! Excited to see more from the session. Wish we had more time to get to know each other.

Janet - Amazing images Tamara. It was such a learning experience at the workshop. Looking forward to shooting with you again.

because…

it is February!!  Hard to believe it is here already.  I am involved with a mentoring workshop with the amazing photographer Jefra Star Linn.  She has an online workshop called Develop on Fridays so I will be posting some from my assignments.  The first assignment was about finding your “voice.”  We were to photograph just one subject and 75 pictures later see what you had.  Here are a few of my favorites from this lesson.  And since it is February I went along those lines for my subject.  My youngest was my assistant and enjoyed her role in selecting the candy and testing it.  You’ll see more of her on another February post.

Jennifer N - This belongs framed up somewhere and sold in a home decor store. I love it.

because it’s wednesday

here is miss ‘E’ again.  She is quite the character this one.  She cracks herself up calling her aunts, “uncle” and her uncles, “aunts.”  Her sense of humor is like my sister, her mom.  Enjoy your day and the sunshine!
